Meet Our Spiritual Leaders
Butch Seargent
F.T. “Butch” Seargent is a prime example
of God’s saving grace in action. Butch
moved from Richmond, Virginia to Murray
in 1976 with his wife, Jan, and two
sons, Trice and Todd. He owned and
operated a professional land surveying
business for 25 years both in Virginia
and in Kentucky. In 1993 he went to
work with the City of Murray for a
second time, and it was during this
period that his life really began to
change. At the age of 45, Butch gave
his life to Jesus Christ. He credits
Jan’s faithfulness to God, throughout
their married life, as a major influence
in his decision to start a new life in
Christ. Ever since that day, Butch
hasn’t stopped sharing what Jesus has
done in his life and His amazing,
unconditional love. In 2001, Butch
retired as Director of Planning and
Engineering for the City of Murray to
serve God full-time as elder/pastor of
Murray Family Church. He was ordained
July 16, 2001. After many years of
self-study, he then obtained a
Certificate in Christian Ministry from
Mid-Continent Bible College. Butch has
a heart for people and serving the
community, and he seeks to show God’s
love in tangible ways to those God
brings across his path.

Brent Armstrong
Brent and Lisa Armstrong, along with
their daughters, Tabitha and Angela,
moved to Murray in June of 1992 from
Princeton, Kentucky. They knew God had
much more in mind for them than merely
Brent’s job relocation with the U.S.
Postal Service, first to Murray and then
to Hardin, Kentucky. In July of that
year, they became involved with the
church in downtown Murray and have been
serving faithfully since. Brent was
ordained as an elder in 2002, and has
served as an elder at Murray Family
Church for the past six years. He
oversees worship activities and assists
with training leaders. His passions are
teaching the Word of God; helping others
with marriage, family and parenting
issues; and worship.
